Essential Duties:
The Accounting Supervisor provides accounting oversight on multiple
construction projects and handles general accounting
responsibilities for the location. The Accounting Supervisor
collaborates with the Controller to maintain the accounting
functions according to legal and financial standards. Typically,
this individual reports directly to the Controller, but may report
to the Vice President of Finance and Accounting.
Essential Skills:
Analytical and problem-solving skills, proficient with a 10-key
calculator by touch.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and an applied
knowledge of computer accounting applications is required. Good
oral and written communication skills are a must, as is the ability
to work well with people. Discretion is necessary in working with
sensitive and confidential information. Ability to establish
priorities, the forethought to know when to seek assistance,
independent judgment, and a flexible work style; the ability to
effectively communicate and work with a variety of different
personalities and work styles. Individual operates with a high
level of accuracy and attention to detail. To perform the job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each previously
stated duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skills, and ability necessary to succeed as an Accounting
Supervisor:
* Education: A Bachelor degree in business or related field
required.
* Experience: Six years of accounting experience; which includes
two years of direct supervisory experience and two years of
construction experience, required.
