Job Description Job Description PURPOSE This is a union position, and this person will service new HVAC & Refrigeration equipment parts, make repairs, and trouble shoot live electrical components. Responsible for installing and maintaining piping, welding, soldering, refrigeration equipment, boilers, pumps, and brazing. Maintain and grow the “Customer for Life” concept for existing and new customers. Performs related work as required. This position will also be eligible for Vacation time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be constructed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Read and understand electrical wiring diagrams Complete paperwork as needed Work with refrigerant, electricity, chemicals, natural gas Run required equipment to perform work or task, including climbing ladders and stairs Accurate daily time and equipment reporting MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS High school diploma/GED 5 year Local 33 Apprenticeship Program or Vocational Schooling Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams Good electrical troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude Basic computer skills CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver license Acceptable driving record Universal refrigerant license State licenses: HVAC, refrigeration, hydronic, plumbing, universal CFC license, 30-hour OSHA, 10-hour OSHA, safety training MENTAL AND PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Good hygiene, clean uniform, boots, and safety gear Solid communication and customer service skills - able to work with customers and satisfy needs Cautious and exceptional driving skills Good hand dexterity Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Ability to work 8 hours, be on call, and work after hours, nights, weekends, holidays ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY At any given time, may be exposed to: Normal office conditions Exposure to weather, heat, cold Wet &/or humid Vibration Exposure to dust/fumes Asbestos In proximity to moving mechanical parts Exposure to electrical shock Working in high/exposed places Exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals Noise intensity - Loud EQUIPMENT/TOOLS Clothing: cotton button up shirt or company uniform shirt, jeans; coats, gloves, hats PPE (safety glasses, vest, hard hat, ear plugs, steel toe boots, safety harness, face shield) Hand tools/power tools Drills Saws Hand Torch Welding torch Hammer drill Chain falls Recovery machine Vacuum pump Tool bag Tank of refrigerant Small recovery tank Large refrigerant recovery tank Small bottle of Nitrogen Bottle of CO2 A/C compression Electric motors Baker Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
