• Provides strategic leadership, planning, and execution of all underwriting operational activities for the Assumed Reinsurance Department.--
• Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for Vice President-Reinsurance to facilitate efficient decision-making.--
• Initiates, organizes, and completes projects to increase efficiency in underwriting, pricing, and servicing of accounts.--
• Drives vision and strategic planning for future and current underwriting goals, coordinates the execution and planning of strategic initiatives for all aspects of Reinsurance, with the focus on growing the international book.
• Performs marketing duties by serving as a relationship manager for prospective and current clients, reinsurance contacts, including brokers, to strengthen the company position and involvement in the reinsurance marketplace.
• Collaborates with team members to establish performance goals and monitors status, conducts reviews and provides coaching, leadership and develops team at an enterprise level.
• Serves as an adviser to Vice President-Reinsurance. Answers questions, resolves complex issues and is proxy for the vice president when necessary. Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Ten years of experience in progressively responsible roles in assumed reinsurance, including underwriting or claims
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Insurance and reinsurance designations, such as CPCU and ARe, preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Excellent knowledge of reinsurance underwriting industry--
    • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills--
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities--
    • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media--
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills--
    • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments and management levels--
