Job Description:

The Waldinger Corporation, a full-service mechanical, sheet metal, electrical and service contractor, is growing. Current opportunities include high-level leadership positions at the brand new Corporate Office in our Construction Division.
Reporting directly to the Construction Division President, the Vice President of Construction Administration provides leadership and direction for multiple aspects of construction operations, including financial and forecasting review, operating performance review and analysis, and establishing and maintaining KPIs. As a member of the Construction Division Leadership Team, this person must establish and maintain standard procedures, guide contract review, train and develop team members, and integrate new entities into the division. Responsible for driving the construction divisions achievement of financial goals and objectives, while increasing operating performance and promoting a team-oriented approach.
Specific Responsibilities
Financial

  • Analyzes monthly financial statements, creates high-level overviews and engages with the Construction Division President and other leadership on highlights, exceptions, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Drives and performs monthly projections at the operating unit level for current year end and next year look ahead. Partners with the Construction Division President in challenging assumptions and driving accountability for results.
  • Develops and provides ongoing training and support for operating unit managers regarding the interpretation of financial reports and other financial data.
  • Owns the preparation of financial analysis as required for board- and enterprise-level reporting including, but not limited to, Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Operating Plans and Strategic Planning. Delivers such reports as required.
    Legal
    • Manages the contract review process to ensure the organization is consistently assessing risk and working to mitigate through modifications.
    • Escalates unusual circumstances or exceptions to the Construction Division President with recommendations to resolve or creative approaches to explore.
    • Guides and maintains contract review processes that are built around integrity, staying between the curbs and creating long-term partnerships.
      Performance Management
      • Leads the development and ongoing evaluation of KPIs for the construction operations group. Ensures the measures and associated best practices help the division achieve financial and operational goals and objectives.
      • Develops and provides ongoing training and support for operating unit managers regarding the interpretation of operating performance data, while regularly consulting on ways to improve performance.
      • Analyzes operational performance across the division and within each market. Communicates highlights, exceptions and trends to the Construction Division President. Uses data to drive improvements and creates accountability for performance. Consistently recognizes and celebrates progress.
      • Owns the preparation of operational analysis as required for board- and enterprise-level reporting including, but not limited to, Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Operating Plans and Strategic Planning. Delivers such reports as required.
      • Drives initiatives that increase operational performance across the entire construction division partnering with leaders and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
        Operational Effectiveness
        • Defines, documents and monitors the execution of standard procedures for the Construction Division. Communicates regularly with leaders on adoption of procedures and barriers to success.
        • Participates in due diligence for acquisitions as assigned.
        • Leads the integration efforts associated with new acquisitions ensuring cultural, operational and financial goals are achieved.
          Other Duties
          • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Construction Division President.
            Requirements
            • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management or related disciplines required; MBA preferred
            • 8 to 10 years in financial analysis, business analysis or risk analysis roles of increasing complexity with a minimum 5 years of specific construction or construction accounting experience required
            • Demonstrated experience in executive-level business and financial analysis required
            • Demonstrated experience in conducting critical contract review and modification preferred
            • Demonstrated ability to develop teams and increase performance
            • Acquisition integration experience preferred
