About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer... In this role, you will: As the front-line control arm of Commercial Banking, Commercial Banking Control Management develops and supports a strong control environment that leads to early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk, through joint accountability with business and process leaders. The control function is responsible for: risk identification and assessment, control and issue management, control design and evaluation, reporting and governance, and control programs.The Commercial Banking Control Management Programs Team is responsible for monitoring the implementation and execution of various risk programs including providing support to the lines of business. This support may include risk and control guidance, job aid development, enterprise risk program coordination and facilitation, reporting and data analytics. This group also provides feedback to corporate on risk policies and procedures. This position will be a member of the Issues, Governance & Strategy, and WLOSS Control team within Wholesale Lending Operations Control. Our focus will be:

  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of the business control environment through engagement with the business aligned Control managers / officers.
  • Driving the implementation & execution of the Enterprise Issue Management policy across
  • Commercial Banking Operations (CB Ops).
  • Oversight of the CB Ops issue portfolio
  • Credible challenge of the identification, remediation, progress, and related deliverables for each Issue
  • Timely escalations to senior business & control leadership
  • Personal and team accountability to meet or exceed all related Issue Management metrics.
  • Leads and influences partnerships with the business process owner by consulting and providing expertise and strategic direction in the control design to effectively mitigate risks, including design of effective means of measurement.
  • Contributes to the development and enhancement of the business control environment through execution of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program.
  • Engages in the development and implementation of new controls, action plans, and root cause analysis.
  • Supports the Business with implementation of Control programs by providing consultative guidance.
  • Assesses and designs appropriate metrics to inform and monitor the health of the operational risk environment.
  • Supports a strong risk management culture through the implementation of key risk management programs into the standard operating framework of the business. Required Qualifications, US:
    • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Required Qualifications, International:
      • Experience in Risk Management, Control Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications:
        • Experience designing and evaluating controls, processes and procedures;
        • Demonstrated expertise in change management principles, models and frameworks;
        • Advanced knowledge of issue management policy
        • Experience in Independent Risk Management including Operational Risk or Compliance Risk management and mitigation experience
        • Understanding of enterprise risk management framework including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance
        • Experience with tracking, monitoring and implementing corrective actions
        • Experience determining the root cause of identified issues
        • Knowledge and understanding of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Internal Loss Data (ILD), and Shared Risk Platform (SHRP)
        • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
        • Experience designing effective controls, issue management and supporting metrics and governance programs
        • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
