  • Employment Type: Travel*** All travel and lodging expenses paid 100%In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Interim Chief Nursing Officer works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to provide administrative support and direction to directors/managers within Patient Care Services/assigned area(s) of responsibility over agreed upon assignment (interim) period. Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating safe high-quality patient care/services as directed by the ministry/site executive team. Reports to the ministry/site senior executive, based upon assigned interim duties; and to the FirstChoice executive leadership. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSKnows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Ministry/Site Vision as well as the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.Ensures compliance with all health care standards and requirements established by various licensing, regulatory and accreditation bodies.Communicates on a regular basis with senior leaders, the medical staff, the board and other identified stakeholders achievements and concerns related to patient safety, quality, patient loyalty, associate engagement and physician satisfaction. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.Provides leadership and oversight of all additional functions assigned including but not limited to accreditation, infection prevention, risk management and patient advocacy.LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIESReflects the skills, knowledge and attributes that individuals use as they serve in the role of a leader. Analyzes productivity and directs appropriate changes in standards, services, processes and staffing. Establishes and oversees cost reduction initiatives to achieve the organization's strategic goals.Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCECurrent Compact or Iowa Registered Nursing licensureMasters level degree or higher requiredMinimum of five (5) years executive/director level leadership experience in patient care in an acute care settingIn depth knowledge of system thinking, change leadership, shared governance, matrix reporting, continuous improvement, process excellence, and financial and productivity managementDemonstrated ability to collaborate with all members of the administrative and health care team.The ability to synthesize and interpret large amounts of clinical, quality, and financial data.Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.Demonstrated ability to model the use of evidence-based leadership/practice, and project management skills.Displays excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide advice, counsel and leadership to staff, physicians, patients and the community.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSMust be able to set and organize own work, organization work, and nursing priorities, and adapt them as they change frequently. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health locations.Trinity Health FirstChoice Job ID #2966.       Minimum Qualifications/Requirements of a FirstChoice Nurse:
