Overview:Assists in managing the day to day operations of the unit utilizing quality, cost effective patient care principles. Supervises supports and develops unit staff. Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area). Acts in accordance with DNV Primary Stroke Center guidelines and educational requirements therein.Responsibilities:

• Integrates the UnityPoint Health Des Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance in all aspects of care delivery and professional practice.
• Manages daily operations of patient care. Contributes to the maintenance of high quality, cost effective services consistent with the needs of the users and the hospital's budgetary guidelines.
• Provides clinical leadership by directing, coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility.
• Acts as an interdepartmental liaison promoting effective multidisciplinary team work.
• Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Remains competent and available to participate in patient care pertinent to clinical specialty.
• Demonstrates personal and professional growth and promotes the same among team members.
• Exhibits discretion and sound judgment in all aspects of the job.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum RequirementsIdentify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.Preferred or SpecializedNot required to perform the essential functions of the position.Education:Graduate of accredited nursing program. BSN.Experience:One year experience as a registered nurse.Experience in specialty area.License(s)/Certification(s):Current Iowa license as a registered nurse.Current BCLS (CPR)Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional educational and lifestyle backgrounds.Knowledge of basic computer skills.Other:Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
