Oloop Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Chariton, Iowa.Job Description & Requirements

      RN Acute Care Experience Required
    • Current
      Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse
    • Chauffeur's
      License (helpful but not required)
    • Mandatory
      Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of employment
    • ACLS
    • NRP
    • TNCC
    • PALS
    • Healthcare
      Provider BLS certification
    • Ability
      to read, write, speak, and understand English well
      OF JOB------------------
      Assist in ER, OR, Cardiac Rehab.,
      and Specialty Clinics during busy times; Assist with task oriented nursing care
      as needed (i.e. IV starts, etc.); Enable floor nursing staff to do morning
      rounds with physicians; Cover for breaks in nursing departments; Cardiac Rehab
      as needed; Back-up for Specialty Clinics as needed; OR recovery as needed; OR
      set up for emergency cases; Chart audits; Admitting and discharging patients;
      Assist with "now" orders in any of the above named departments; Assist with 2nd
      unit ambulance with transfers.------------------
      Relates effectively with other shifts for
      continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments; participates
      in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading policies,
      procedures, and skills.-- --ESSENTIAL

      • Ability
        to maintain confidentiality; and both a high standard of courtesy and
        cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors, and
        satisfactory job performance despite the stress of a hospital work
      • Incorporates

        the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the
        nursing functions of patients, including giving direct patient care.

        physicians and nursing departmental coordinators informed of patient
        needs, and problems on the unit.
      • Utilizes
        gathered data in determining priorities for patients' physical,
        psychological, educational and discharge needs in formulating the plan of
      • Assists
        staff nurses in making nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level
        of employee.
      • Identifies
        problems and guides personnel to their solution.
      • Creates
        a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of coworkers.
      • Administers
        medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly.
      • Maintains
        the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting.
      • Arranges
        to have needed supplies and equipment on hand. (Includes all Nursing Departments
      • Participates
        in planning changes and improvements.
      • Supervises
        LPN and nursing assistant personnel.
      • Carries
        out nursing interventions safely and accurately utilizing knowledge,
        judgment, and skill to implement physicians' orders and the nursing plan
        of care.
      • Evaluates
        patient/family responses to implementation of the plan of care and
        modifies plan of care based on these responses.
      • Prioritizes
      • Performs
        documentation in the nursing unit and in the patient's record accurately,
        concisely and in a timely manner.
      • Demonstrates
        effective communication skills.
      • Supports
        and enforces infection control policies and procedures.
      • Participates
        in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
      • Evaluates
        the performance of personnel with recommendations for appropriate action.
      • Assists
        in reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
      • Maintains
        professional patient confidentiality.
      • Displays
        concern and initiative.
      • Observes
        and supports hospital policies.
      • Prompt
        and efficient with minimal absences.
      • Cooperates
        and maintains good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other
        departments, patients, and visitors.
      • Works
        independently with limited direct supervision using the Nurse Practice
        Act, LCHC policies, nursing standards and professional judgment.
      • Works
        rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
      • Handles
        telephone calls; and, as appropriate, incoming/outgoing written and verbal
        communications on a timely basis
      • Effectively
        assumes job responsibilities of ancillary support during absences
      • Attend
        meeting and in-services as required.
