Our nurses enjoy a suportive culture with the opportunity to collaborate with our psychiatric team.We are seeking a nurse to cover a family leave vacancy from approximately June 1 - August 31 (able to start training as soon as possible with weekend/evening training shifts available, and we're willing to be flexible with end date). Hours are 9:00am - 9:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Already have some summer plans? We're able to accommodate some time off as needed.Pay rate is $40 per hour, and we're offering a $1500 sign-on bonus!As a Staff Nurse, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Iowa kids and their families. Please let us know if you require accommodations during the interview process.As a valued member of the Orchard Place team, you will have the ability to:Create a meaningful impact on and provide valuable input in the overal medical care and treatment for the children and families that we serve.Be a part of our collaborative approach when working with a supportive and diverse team to provide the best care to our clients.What you will do:Assist at the on-site medical clinic in obtaining and completing all doctor's orders for residents as neededComplete nursing assessments and provide direct patient medical care (e.g. vital signs, EKGs, collecting lab samples, assessing/treating urgent-care type needs, transferring patients when a higher level of care or emergent care is indicated)Ensure medical records are up-to-dateEducate direct care staff on instruction and information about medication and drug prescriptionsCommunicate with parents/guardians as neededCurrent nursing staff share that this nursing position is more similar to residential/urgent care/school nursing type of positions as opposed to behavioral health. With the collaborative approach that we take at Orchard Place, there are multiple members assisting with around-the-clock patient care and observation, allowing the nurse to focus on the medical attention the youth need.
