Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) night shift position requiring an active IA or compact RN license and willingness to float to NICU. Responsibilities - Work in a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a hospital environment - Patient population includes critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens - Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week - Every other weekend and holiday rotation may be required - No on-call responsibilities - Must float to NICU as needed, caring for stable 'feeders and growers' in NICU - Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required - Recent, modern PICU setting with all private rooms and advanced technology - Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted - Duties include collaborating within an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered ICU care - Travelers may be required to work two of three winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving - Only one day off can be requested between 11/26/25–11/30/25 and 12/23/25–1/2/26 - Orientation includes 16 hours of onboarding - Traveler RNs will not be assigned the most critical NICU cases when floating - Family-centered care is emphasized, with facilities for family presence and support Requirements - Active RN license in Iowa or valid compact RN license - BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications are required - Minimum of two years of recent PICU experience - Critical care experience strongly encouraged - Epic EMR experience required - Must be willing to float to NICU and provide care for stable neonatal patients Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614607.
