Travel Nursing Job Details - Location: Des Moines, Iowa 50309 – Central Iowa healthcare jobs - Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Operating Room - Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 2/23/2026) - Shifts: Day shifts, 6:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday - Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts per week, 40 hours/week - On-Call: Up to 2 overnight calls per week and 4 weekends per contract - Unit Details: 16 OR suites, 35-50 surgical cases per day - Surgical Specialties: Cardiac, vascular, thoracic, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants - Scrubs: Provided by facility - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2560 - $2750 Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license - Minimum 3 years of recent hospital Operating Room RN experience (outpatient experience not accepted) - Level I trauma center experience required - Strong proficiency in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases - Previous travel nursing contract completed within the last 12 months (no first-time travelers) - Scrub nurse experience required - Experience with EPIC EMR system - Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred) - At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities - Circulate and scrub for a wide range of surgical procedures, focusing on cardiac and trauma cases - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care - Maintain efficient operating room turnover (goal: less than 20 minutes) - Float between all hospital campuses as needed - Participate in on-call rotation, including overnight and weekend shifts - Accurately document patient care and surgical procedures using EPIC EMR - Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols Take the next step in your nursing career with this travel RN job in Des Moines, Iowa—a city celebrated for its welcoming community, thriving arts scene, and outstanding quality of life.
