Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring recent travel experience, strong post-op care skills, and an active IA or compact RN license. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg unit with 24-26 beds based on census - Patient population includes general medical, post-operative, gynecology, breast, and ENT/OTO cases - Nurse to patient ratio ranges from 1:4-6 on days and 1:5-6 on nights - Involves drips and medication administration, including heparin - Float required across multiple campuses - Epic EMR is used and experience is required - Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving) - Will care for a diverse med/surg patient population including post-op and specialty surgical patients - Travelers will be scheduled across all campuses as needed based on staffing - RTO is limited to one day between 11/26 and 11/30 and between 12/23 and 1/2 regardless of holidays worked - Proof of active license and certifications required at the time of consideration - Candidates who have worked for the client within the past 12 months may not be eligible Requirements - Active Iowa or compact RN license required - BLS certification (AHA) required - Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience, including post-op/surgical care in general, gynecology, breast, and ENT/OTO - Epic EMR experience required - Must have completed at least one travel contract in the past 12 months - No first-time travelers will be considered - Must provide a recent supervisory reference from within the last 2 years Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-612759.
