Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Job Details Employment Type: Locum tenens (contract healthcare job) Location: On-site in Des Moines, IA (50309) – Iowa nursing jobs Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts (no nights, weekends, or on-call) Shifts per Week: 5 Hours per Week: 40 Contract Duration: 16 weeks, with potential for extension or permanent placement Start Date: September 8, 2025 Estimated Weekly Pay: $4110 - $4870 per week Nurse Practitioner Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) Current, unrestricted NP license to practice in Iowa DEA license or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of hire Current CPR or BLS certification Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) Background in dialysis, nephrology, or primary care preferred Experience managing heart failure, hypertension, and diabetes Familiarity with palliative care planning is a plus Spanish-speaking preferred but not required Healthcare Responsibilities Provide primary care services in nephrologist offices and dialysis centers Manage complex CKD and ESKD patients to reduce hospitalizations and improve clinical outcomes Help launch new outpatient CKD clinics near dialysis units Work independently and collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams Participate in care redesign and innovative healthcare practice development Engage in palliative care planning and health risk assessments Build rapport with patients and providers, fostering a positive healthcare culture Travel locally between practice and dialysis clinic environments as needed Apply now to join our healthcare team and make a difference in Iowa nursing jobs!
