Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work in a 30-bed medical surgical unit treating post-operative and spine care patients • Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist • Nurse-to-patient ratio: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6 • Every other weekend schedule including holiday rotation • Administer heparin drips and provide post-operative surgical care • 24 months of medical surgical experience in hospital or medical center setting required • Strong heparin experience required • Spine care experience required • Post-operative surgical experience highly preferred • Must have minimum 3 months of current travel experience within previous 12 months • First-time travelers not accepted • Required certifications: BLS (AHA) • Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required • EMR system: EPIC • Dress code: Navy blue solid scrubs • Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred Facility: This healthcare facility operates as part of a comprehensive health system with multiple campuses providing medical and surgical services.
