Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • 16-hour net billable obligation (NBO) per week • Work with EPIC EMR system • 22-bed unit providing general medical surgical care including renal, transplant, and urology patients • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 • Required to wear navy blue scrubs • Must float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist • Weekend schedule: every other or 3rd weekend including holiday rotation if scheduled • Overtime billable after 40 hours (36-40 hrs/week) or after 48 hours (48 hrs/week) • Orientation dates available: 3/2, 3/16, 3/30 • 24 months of current medical surgical experience required • At least one travel contract completed within previous 12 months required • EPIC EMR experience required • Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required • BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross) • Skills checklist specific to medical surgical discipline required • Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred Facility: This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical center featuring specialized units for medical surgical care including renal, transplant, and urology services.
