Job Description Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity/n/n Position Overview/n This role involves working in a fast-paced operating room environment, providing nursing care and support during surgical procedures. A strong focus on patient safety and effective teamwork is essential. /n/nSchedule Details/n /n - Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4x10 hour shifts with rotating days off. /n - Call Requirements: Up to one overnight call per week and three weekends per 13-week contract. /n - Weekend Coverage: Call from Friday at 5 PM through Monday at 6:30 AM. /n /n/nKey Responsibilities/n /n - Circulate in the operating room for a variety of surgical procedures. /n - Assist with scrubbing duties as needed, particularly in general, trauma, pediatrics, and da Vinci robotics cases. /n - Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth operations and patient safety throughout the surgical process. /n /n/nRequired Qualifications/n /n - Minimum of two years of current operating room experience. /n - Experience in circulating and operating room roles. /n - Preferred scrub experience, particularly in relevant surgical specialties. /n - Familiarity with cases including General Surgery, da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma is required. /n - Additional experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular procedures is highly preferred. /n - Recent experience with EPIC electronic medical systems within the past three years. /n - Experience working in a Trauma Level I facility is required; Trauma Level II experience is highly preferred. /n - Must have completed a travel assignment within the last 15 months; first-time travelers are not accepted. /n /n/nLicensure and Certifications/n /n - Active Iowa state license, or compact/multistate licensure at time of application. /n - American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. /n /n/nOther Requirements/n /n - Proof of a valid driver's license. /n - Professional references from previous charge nurses, supervisors, nurse managers, directors, or CNOs/COOs, ideally from within the last 24 months. /n /n/n Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care and improving patient outcomes in a collaborative environment.
