POSITION PURPOSE The Nurse Leader (NL) is a licensed registered
nurse (RN) accountable for leading, managing & advancing people,
processes & / or programs that support direct or indirect patient
care . The NL promotes & advocates for patients, nurses/colleagues
& the practice of nursing as defined by clinical area (s) of
expertise & assignment. FUNCTIONAL ROLE Provides operations & / or
optimization leadership focus; Multiple departments/specialties or
division; May provide leadership & direction through managers or
senior managers; Responsible for directing & coordinating /
affecting large complex processes with strong dependencies & broad
resources; Accountable for the performance, regulatory readiness &
results of large, strategic/diverse disciplines cross-functional
teams or departments /areas / clinics over a large functional
domain or multiple domains in a large geography; Accountable for
ensuring organizational mission, values & goals are being carried
out within a matrixed organization. Single ministry-level nursing
function or discipline; Provides decision support, operations & /
or optimization leadership focus; Influences / shapes strategy to
address internal or external business & regulatory issues; Engages
in enterprise level strategy alignment; Proactively identifies,
defines & solves complex problems that impact the management &
direction of the business; Leads multidisciplinary projects or
initiatives; Manages large diverse teams of senior professionals .

behavior & safe work practices. Other duties as needed and assigned
by the manager. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable
Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s
Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as
other Trinity Health and MercyOne policies and procedures in order
to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and
professional behavior. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degree is
required : e.g. MSN (Master of Science in Nursing), MHA (Master of
Health Administration), or MBA (Master of Business Administration),
with at least one degree, either undergraduate or graduate, in
nursing. Current Iowa RN license, ( MercyOne Genesis - current
Registered Nurse (RN) license in either Iowa or Illinois is
required at the time of hire. A secondary RN license for the other
state must be obtained within 12 months of the hire date.)
