Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Des Moines, IA Agency: Jackson HealthPros Pay: $1,892 to $2,092 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Des Moines, IA where you’ll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. Minimum Requirements: Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program. Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing. Iowa licensure highly preferred; candidates able to obtain Iowa license will be considered. NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) credential required. Minimum 36 months of recent respiratory therapy experience in an in-hospital/medical center setting required. Experience across patient populations including PICU/Pediatric intensive care or NICU/neonatal intensive care highly preferred. Experience with high frequency ventilation modalities such as HFOV, Jet, and Servo U highly preferred. EPIC electronic medical record experience required. All required certifications active and in hand: BLS (AHA) required. PALS or NRP required. Driver’s license and professional references within 24 months preferred. Work history/resume/employment history must document 36 months of current RRT/CRT respiratory therapy experience. CRT candidates accepted (preferred qualifications still apply). Assignment Details Facility type: Hospital. Primary specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist. Shift: Nights. Shift hours: 6:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Weekly hours: 36 hours per week. Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend, subject to change based on staffing and census. Holiday rotation required. Call: None. Candidates may be required to float across multiple hospital campuses within the same health system.
