Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong cardiac and trauma proficiency for a position at a Level I trauma center in Iowa. Responsibilities - Work in a 16-OR hospital setting with an average caseload of 35-50 cases per day - Service lines include cardiac, vascular, thoracic, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, gynecology, urology, pediatrics, general, transplant, plastics, and ENT procedures - Special equipment includes three DaVinci robots, Stealth neuro navigation, and Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma - Shifts include weekend call coverage from Friday end of shift through Monday morning - Floating is required across multiple campuses - Operates at a Level I trauma center - Epic EMR system is used and recent experience with Epic is required - Scrubs are provided - Responsible for both circulating and scrub roles in diverse surgical specialties - Expectations include less than 20 minute OR turnovers - First time travelers will not be considered - Team structure supports high-volume, complex surgeries with specialized technology - Travelers are expected to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) - Only one requested day off is allowed between specified holiday blocks - Scrub attire is provided by the facility - A 50-mile local radius rule applies for local candidates Requirements - Active IA or compact RN license required - BLS certification from AHA or ARC required - Minimum of 24 months current operating room experience required - Recent circulating and scrubbing experience in the operating room required - Strong cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery experience required - Recent experience with Epic EMR within the last 3 years required - Experience with trauma Level I cases and additional service lines such as robotics, pediatrics, neuro, ortho trauma, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, and ENT procedures highly preferred - Previous travel assignment completed within the last 12 months required - Driver's license required for consideration Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-668262.
