Job Description:
DescriptionServing on the Corteva Biotechnology Leadership Team,
this role is responsible for defining, aligning and leading the
Biotech technology and enabling capability strategy. This includes
disruptive technology, strategic capability enablement (i.e. gene
editing, spatial biology, a.i. and imaging, protein science, etc),
and transformational capital investment plants. The leader will be
responsible for leading the team of technology program team leaders
and Project managers, who will work in tandem with the Biotech
functional leaders, laureates, and capability leaders, and the
R&D External Innovation team, to ideate, form, and lead
transformational technology enabling capability programs. The
Biotech Technology and Enabling capability pipeline team will
coordinate the process to identify capability needs or
opportunities within Biotech, engage and drive collaborations with
external partners and functional groups to address these
opportunities, manage these as programs to ensure successful
execution, and coordinate with the External Innovation R&D
function to elevate larger, disruptive technology strategic
opportunities for corporate approval. The scope also includes
Biotech strategic internal capital initiatives. The group will
require seamless coordination with the External Innovation R&D
team, providing a pipeline of gaps and opportunitiesfor analysis
and external searches (the external innovation group will provide
collaboration leads and/or signed agreements for action in the
technology and enabling portfolio). The Technology and Enabling
Strategy leader will have constant coordination with the External
Innovation, Biotech functional teams, and laureate community to
develop technology strategies, business cases and ROI analysis to
ensure alignment with strategic directives. Responsibilities - What
You'll Do:
- Define, align and lead the Biotech technology and enabling
capability strategy, collaborating with the Biotech LT.
- Search, consolidate, and elevate capabilities needed for the
biotech team to advance our discovery and product development
strategy
- Communicate strategy, technical updates and deliver execution
presentations to key stakeholders including executive level
leadership
- Collaborate with R&D External innovation team on technical
due diligence and business case development of targeted
collaborations, external investments.
- Identification of external partners to fill technology
gaps
- Collaboration with Biotech laureate community to build tech
disrupters pipeline
- Actively participates in professional groups and applies
learnings and knowledge to role
- Engages with external collaborators through meetings and
conferences
- Collaborates with functional team leaders driving technology
implementation to address vision and Biotech needs
QualificationsEducation and Experience: Ph.D., M.S., or MBA in
Biotechnology, Biology, Agribusiness, or Agricultural technology.
> 10 years of Experience in industry or public sector biotech
research, AgriTech, Startup companies, emerging technology
development. Competencies Needed:

- In depth knowledge of internal biotech capabilities,
opportunities & needs
- Knowledge/access to external partners and their key

- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule including travel
