Job Description Senior Azure Developer (Contract) We are partnering with a leading enterprise organization to bring on a Senior Azure Developer to support the buildout of modern, cloud-based data and integration solutions. This role will sit within a high-impact integration team focused on delivering scalable, event-driven services and APIs across the business. This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who thrives in Azure, can ramp quickly, and enjoys working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. What You’ll Be Doing Design and deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure Develop and maintain serverless applications using Azure Functions (HTTP and event-driven triggers) Implement messaging solutions leveraging Azure Service Bus (queues, topics, subscriptions) Build and manage APIs through Azure API Management, including configuration and lifecycle support Partner with architects and product stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions Develop high-quality components using C# and modern .NET frameworks Ensure APIs follow best practices around design, versioning, and consistency Troubleshoot and enhance existing integrations and cloud services Contribute to engineering standards, DevOps practices, and reusable design patterns Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams What We’re Looking For 5 years of experience developing with C# and .NET 3 years of hands-on experience working within Azure environments Strong experience with: Azure Functions Azure Service Bus (messaging patterns) Azure API Management (APIM) Proven ability to design and build RESTful APIs Experience working with event-driven and serverless architectures Strong understanding of API security (OAuth2, JWT, authentication/authorization patterns) Key Skills Deep knowledge of C# and modern .NET (6/7) Strong understanding of API design standards, error handling, and versioning strategies Experience configuring and integrating Azure services in enterprise environments Familiarity with identity and access patterns (OAuth2, managed identities, tokens) Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) Solid understanding of system performance, reliability, and monitoring Nice to Have Experience with Azure services such as Key Vault, Event Grid, Storage Accounts, and Application Insights Knowledge of API governance and APIM policy configuration Background in data platforms, pipelines, or data product architecture Experience with API testing tools like Postman Familiarity with microservices and domain-driven design concepts Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) Why This Role Work on modern Azure-based architecture with real business impact High visibility team with strong technical leadership Opportunity to influence best practices and design patterns Fast-paced environment with meaningful engineering challenges
