Job Description:

The Application Support Analyst provides management of software application projects, including identify and analyze user requirements and recommend appropriate applications or modification and the advanced troubleshooting of software applications for all users. The Application Support Analyst works to ensure applications are efficient and effective in moving the Airport toward its business objectives by actively participating in the design, delivery, and improvement efforts of software applications and related training programs.Requirements* Manages software application projects from beginning to end. Works collaboratively with Airport Leadership to define project scope, goals, and deliverables supporting obtaining Airport goals. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Works with the Technical Services Manager to establish project budgets and recommends subsequent budget changes where necessary. * Fields incoming and escalated problem tickets to resolve application and software issues. Records, tracks, and documents the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions are taken, through to final resolution. Evaluates documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems. Communicates application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including Airport Leadership, end-users, and software vendors.* Extracts data and creates reports using application tools to present the necessary information to end-users. Understands the applications' underlying database structure to develop queries and reports. Manages interfaces between software applications.* Coordinates and performs testing of updated, modified, or new systems. Test application fixes and performs post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.* Designs, develops, and delivers software applications training programs and individual classes. Presents instructor-led training sessions. Develops and provides new courses for new and existing software applications, including all course materials, exercises, and skills evaluations. Reviews training materials and documentation and keeps them up to date.* Design, develop, and deploy Business Intelligence applications for Airport Departments as well as organizational measures and benchmarks. This includes the selection and support of business intelligence infrastructure as well as the development and maintenance of applications. * Meets with decision-makers, systems owners, and end-users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and leverage existing applications or select new software solutions that fulfill these requirements.* Maintains and enhances the performance of all software applications across the organization.* Identifies and learns appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.* Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing software applications and develops strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.* Collaborates with IT staff and other departments in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.* Conducts research on software and related hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.* Completes a variety of other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesCollege diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience. Basic knowledge of computer hardware. Experience with desktop and server operating systems. Experience supporting and integrating software applications and databases. Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office products.Must demonstrate the ability to absorb and retain information with proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and execute against multiple tasks. Proven experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution. Solid technical documentation skills and knowledge of current industry trends are required.Must demonstrate alignment with the organization's goals and objectives, demonstrate exceptional customer service, and have the ability to work with a wide variety of persons and personalities. Must have an exceptional interpersonal style with the ability to work with end-users at all levels of knowledge, including the ability to communicate technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
