Requirements: Must be 18 year or older Eligibility to work in the U.S. Physical - lift (20-25lbs), bend and stand repetitively and for long periods of timeDES Employment Group is hiring for a global ingredient manufacturer who is looking for production operators. SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to operate all equipment in order to produce the full line of products while maintaining all manufacturing performance and quality standards. This includes assembling and preparing the necessary and correct ingredients and raw materials, measuring and blending materials and operating equipment in the manufacturing process. Some packaging of bulk and finished products and preparing for shipping and receiving of freight and materials will occur. It is expected that the employee will take careful considerations when performing their job. They are expected to follow instructions, specific procedures and protocols, and adhere to the required measures to ensure the highest quality of product and safe work environment.MINIMUM EDUCATION (including licenses, certifications, designations, etc.): High School diploma, or equivalent, with 0-3 years of applicable experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assemble and process raw materials for production of finished product per manufacturing order. May package and label finished products. May assist in preparation for shipping, as applicable. Operate and monitor assigned equipment by following established written operations andsafety procedures. Follow manufacturing orders and enter data for batch records and inventory control viacomputer system. Responsible for routine area/equipment, cleaning/sanitation, and notifying maintenance ofequipment issues. Pull and send incoming raw material samples to Quality. Visually inspect raw material for obvious damage or defect. Assure order meets receiving order documentation. Complete in-process and finished product sampling per SOP's Follow all GMP required procedures and practices. Follow Master Sanitation schedule, as per instructed. Assist Supervisor with on the job training and provide feedback. Assist with providing proactive recommendations for equipment maintenance and processimprovements. Follows and maintains an environment of food and feed safety in compliance with rulesand regulations, as applicable.OTHER FUNCTIONS: Work with other departments such as Quality, Auditing, Maintenance, Inventory, and Research and Development. Perform rework when needed.ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCES: Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures, solve basic problems, and utilize cognitive reasoning and ability to use formulas to calculate proper mixtures. Must be reliable and have good attendance. Mechanical aptitude. Excellent communication skills. Detailed-oriented. Ability to key/enter data into computer system. Good math skills and ability to accurately measure/weigh. Time management and prioritization skills are needed. Ability to use hand tools for normal preventative equipment maintenance and cleaning. Must be able to see, read and write. Ability to key/enter data into computer system.PHYSICAL EFFORT NEEDED: Frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, twisting and climbing stairs. Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 55lbs. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must also be able to grab, push and pull with abrupt force. May need to work in wet areas due to sanitation and wash downs, dusty and/or acidic conditions due to materials being used.ADDITIONAL DESIRED/TYPICAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCES, AND FUNCTIONS: May vary for each business unit, specific to position. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The position is subject to some extreme environmentalconditions such as humidity and extreme temperatures.The nature of a chemical processing plant, and the fact that maintenance comes into play when machines/equipment/processes are not working properly, results in exposure to many different chemicals, requiring the need for personal protective equipment. Some hazards are liquid chemical in nature and others are air-borne, depending upon the project. Assembling and starting up of equipment subjects the position to hazards that are both physically demanding and fatiguing. Working in wet areas due to sanitation and wash downs may be required. Working in dusty and/or caustic conditions due to materials being used may be possible. Materials (raw or unfinished) may stain skin and clothing and emit a strong order. Extreme caution should be used when working with materials. Noise levels require hearing protection in some areas. Protective clothing and safety equipment is provided and required to wear.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Safety glasses, thermal gloves, aprons, face shield, ear protection, and other protection are all provided. Other related GMP, quality, and other job- specific PPE safety attire will be required to be worn as well.
