**Job Summary**
Black & Veatch is seeking a junior Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing
Engineer to provide design for a variety of buildings in the
Federal market sector. Building types include administration/office
buildings, battery storage, server rooms, manufacturing, warehouses
as well as maintenance facilities. The candidate should have good
communication skills and ability to work with a group of
experienced professionals. The candidate will be responsible for
executing mechanical building system design tasks for new and
existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team,
including drawings, specifications, and submittal reviews.

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Ensuring project compliance with applicable codes, standards, and
client specific criteria.
+ Performs load, system and equipment sizing calculations as
assigned
+ Create plumbing riser diagrams and system P&IDs and other 2D
drawings in REVIT
+ Utilize Trace 3D and BLCC to perform project energy models and
life cycle cost analysis as assigned
+ Participate in construction period services as assigned (Review
of submittals, RFI responses, Etc)
+ Able to travel and participate in site observation at client
sites
+ Actively coordinates with all other team members on projects
+ Participates in team design meetings and activities
+ Promotes quality within the project/ group
+ Participates in process improvement activities as assigned
+ Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and
exchange project information necessary for design development

**Preferred Qualifications**
_Assigned to projects for U.S. Government Agency/Department
clients. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen._
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from
an accredited program.
+ Proven self-starter
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
**Preferred design experience related to any of the following
subject matters:**
+ Plumbing systems design classes
+ HVAC systems design classes
+ Revit experience
**Certifications**
+ Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
**Minimum Qualifications**
No experience required. Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical
Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their
home country or the country in which the professional is
practicing. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment
onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of
the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and
motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable
laws and regulations.
