Job Description:

VERBIO Agriculture is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Process Technician, for its biomethane and ethanol facility in Nevada, IA (about 12 miles east of Ames). In this role you will specifically focus on ensuring the successful operation of the facility by completing day to day critical operations, reliability, and construction tasks. VERBIO produces biomethane (renewable natural gas) from baled crop residues and plans to produce ethanol from corn. Future growth at this location will include an expansion of the biomethane process and retrofitting of ethanol. What you will be doing:

• Perform core process operations, which may include: DCS automation, loading and unloading trucks, and the ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Troubleshoot and maintain area equipment such as valves, pumps, hoses, etc.
• Actively participate in crew and department activities, which may include definition of best practices, SOP development, maintenance, training, continuous improvement efforts and standardization.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Implement, adhere to, and recommend changes to ISO standards.
• Communicate verbally, and in writing, about division of tasks, shift turnover, email, problem resolution, feedback, process documentation, etc.
• Support project recommendations with operational expertise, permitting, and LOTO.
• Perform chemical inventories on a reoccurring basis and communicate status.
• Help track permitting errors and communicate improvements to other operators.
• Perform additional tasks throughout the facility when needed. This job is for you if you have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • At least 3 years of operations experience in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to do moderate to heavy lifting (55 lbs.)
  • Ability to define, write, and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to work in an individual setting and team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Self-starter and reliable.
