Nationwide begins on Monday, May 3, 2021 with an award-winning
training program that is designed to set you up for success and
confidence in your new role. Your training schedule will be
Monday---Friday, 8:00 am- 4:30 pm, lasting 12 weeks.\n\n \n\n--\n\n
\n\n Full-time schedules are 38.75 hours per week:\n\n Des Moines,
IA schedule will be 9:30am-6pm CT Monday- Friday. San Antonio, TX
schedule will be 12:30pm-9pm CT Monday- Friday. \n\n--\n\n \n\n

Description Summary \n\n \n\nUnder direct supervision, responsible
for the sale of new multi-line property/casualty insurance business
via direct (inbound and/or outbound) telephone or internet contact
with prospective customers. Provides counseling regarding insurance
needs and product availability. Provides quotes, determines
eligibility, and binds coverage after collecting all related
underwriting data and information. Performs outbound calls and
follow-up work as required to close the sale. Specializes in
personal lines (auto, home, boats, motorcycles, RV, umbrellas,
flood) of business. Note: This job includes a multiple week
training period where the associate is expected to achieve
successful completion of training and assigned sales and quality
standards.\n\n \n\n Job Description \n\n \n\n Reporting
Relationships: Reports to the Direct Sales Supervisor.\n\n \n\n
Core Duties and Responsibilities:--\n\n Handles incoming
calls/emails from prospective personal lines customers for multiple
lines of property/casualty business according to best practices.--
Performs outbound calls and follow-up work to close the sale.
Writes quality risk policies based on underwriting requirements;
makes decisions by interpreting and using appropriate
classification systems, rating plans, tiers, and selection
standards; utilizes training and sales techniques to close the
sale. Answers questions, provides explanations, and makes
recommendations to applicants regarding appropriate coverage for
auto and/or property policies, limits, deductibles; considers
customer needs as well as company guidelines.-- Determines and
enters rating information into systems; provides quotation and
binds coverage within prescribed limits. Completes necessary
applications and forms; issues conditional contact/binder within
authority.-- Follows up for necessary documents and payments in
order to close the sale. Assists and contributes to the team's
current quotas/goals by meeting individual quotas/goals, as well as
unit/team goals. Maintains current understanding and proficiency in
sales techniques and product offerings, keeps up to date with
market conditions and competitors, and systems enhancements.--
Cross-trains on other products and lines of business. Performs
other duties as assigned. \n\n Typical Skills and
Experiences:--\n\n \n\n Education:--High school diploma or
equivalent; undergraduate studies preferred.-- Continuing education
as required by state(s). Prefer participation in professional
insurance coursework.\n\n \n\n
License/Certification/Designation:--State licensing as required for
property/casualty products.--Continuing education as required by
state(s).--Associates must obtain the required state licenses
within the time period designated by the business unit.--If an
associate fails or is unable to obtain required
licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the
business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the
position.\n\n \n\n Experience:--Typically, two years related work
experience in sales and customer service.--Prefer experience in
auto and/or homeowners--- insurance.--Prefer exposure to multiple
product property/casualty insurance telemarketing in call center
environment. Previous insurance industry experience may be
considered in leu of sales experience.\n\n \n\n Knowledge,
Abilities and Skills:-- Knowledge of sales techniques,
property/casualty insurance products, insurance processing systems
and procedures, best practices, state regulations and customer
service practices. Possesses strong verbal and interpersonal skills
to communicate technical insurance information to prospective
customers and influence prospective customers to select Nationwide
products.-- Ability to operate personal computer hardware/software
in a WINDOWS environment.\n\n \n\nOther criteria, including
leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take
precedence.\n\n \n\nStaffing exceptions to the above must be
approved by the hiring manager---s leader and HR Business

availability to work in a call center environment including
extended periods of sitting at a personal computer, use of a
headset, non-standard work hours/shifts in a 24/7 environment
including shifts, weekends and overtime as assigned.\n\n \n\n
